Windows 7: BSOD after startup and loading my programs (Did a system restore)

15 Aug 2016   #31

Windows 10 Pro

A critical process can be terminated or exited for a fairly amount of reasons, a failing hard drive, the faulty memory, NTFS system corruption, BIOS has a bug, etc.
It looks like there have been a large amount of pagefaults in the threads of this process, I'm not sure what kind of pagefault, but I would suggest to run MemTest86+.

BSOD after startup and loading my programs (Did a system restore) Diagnostic Test BSOD after startup and loading my programs (Did a system restore)

Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 7 Forums

Note   Note

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.

Windows 7 64-bit

I'm having issues loading off a USB. When I load into the USB it says missing operating system. Ive followed directions on the forum post however it's not working for USB. Would prefer to run it that way since I don't have a CD drive.!AmB3xSQ51UQ6hGEfuiyMJTcpj9bp

Simple USB switch seems to be the fix. The UBS seemed to not be identifying. I loaded a Sandisk USB just fine. Will run the Test overnight, the results will be posted tomorrow afternoon.

Thank you again, Axe0!

Good news
CHKDSK discovered free space marked as allocated in the
              master file table (MFT) bitmap.
Windows has made corrections to the file system.
Let me know if another BSOD occurs

I would suggest to try a vanille installation.

A vanille installation is Windows 7 updated with Microsoft Security Essentials, nothing else.
You could do it as follow
  • Put everything of the HDD on the SSD,
  • Remove the SSD,
  • Install a vanille Windows 7 on the HDD.
  • Put everything from the SSD on the HDD that you do not want to loose
  • Remove the HDD,
  • Clean reinstall a vanille Windows 7 on the SSD
