BSOD caused by graphic card drivers, but not convinced
Hi all,
I have the following computer
CPU : Intel® Core™ i5-4590 CPU @ 3.30GHz
Motherboard : MSI B85-G43 GAMING (MS-7816) - latest device drivers
32gb ram
graphics card : AMD Radeon R9 270 - latest device drivers
Hard drives : 3 (one main and 2 back ups)
which I use for video editing (work) and playing the latest star wars battlefront (play).
But there is always something wrong, I getting BSOD every 12-36 hours. Now that I have finished a major video editing project I can try to work out what is wrong; I tried a few things but what fixed it was removing the graphic card device drivers and using the default drivers. But that means I don't get the full use out of a $300 video card!
Now before everyone assumes that I have fixed the problem I must point out what was happening before.
When I had the graphics card drivers installed I used to do some funny things to get the computer to work - I used to unplug the DVD drive, unplug/plug in other hard drives (yes, plugging a second hard drive back in used to get the computer working for 2 days), swapping ram chips, taking out ram chips (which I was hesitant to do as I needed them!).
I have tried each ram chip one at a time and they are not the problem.
So what could be causing all these problems? Is the motherboard not handling it all? Is it really just the video card and I need to get another?
Is there a program I could download to check all my hardware to see if they are working correctly?
