    Lenovo T420 Random BSOD Occuring

Hello, I've owned this Lenovo T420 for 8+ months. I have been receiving random BSODs monthly, starting a couple months back, before then, I dont remember having them ever. More recently it has become weekly. Some days there is more than one. Today I've had 6. A couple of them occurred randomly just browsing on Chrome. Twice after I was connected remotely to a clients VM software. Then a couple times just booting up.

Currently I am connected to another client via RDP, browsing, and haven't had any issues for past hour.

I've ran the dm logger tool instructions and am attaching zip to this thread.

The only virus scanner I use is malwarebytes free and don't have any active ones. I've disabled windows updates because I've had issues with them in the past on this laptop.

    Thank you,

    Scott

    Hi Daimyo21,

    Welcome to the 7forums :)

If you have only Malwarebytes as protection, please install Microsoft Security Essentials
The software from Malwarebytes is NO Anti-Virus program and is not meant to run single on a system as AV.

Please install all updates from Windows Update available and check Lenovo for BIOS updates.

    Update 8/25/2016:
Since I've posted, I've had random BSODS every other day. Sometimes twice in a day.

I've installed all important windows updates but have not done the optional ones (some are for my PC). I may do those later.

I've also updated my BIOS yesterday to the latest 1.48 version for Lenovo T420 and ran a virus scan for MRE and found nothing.

So far no BSODs but I will update when I have one.

    Thanks,

    Scott

    Update 8/29/2016:

Over the past 3-4 days, I've experienced 4-5 Randoms BSODs. Some occur within hours of each other, some occur between daily usage.

This happens even when away from the PC just idling, streaming a movie etc.

Please run the DM log Collector again and upload a new zip so the BSODs can be analyzed :)

    What error code was displayed?

I cannot find anything related to BSOD crashes except for unexpected shutdown event logs.

I don't remember the recent errors(I'll take not next occurrence). In BlueScreenView, it shows my last BSOD as 7-13-2016.

    Attached is the details.
I will say that most of the time, I am hooked up to an external display (TV or Monitor). Not sure if it has happened while not hooked up to a display.

Details from the 7-13 crash I can find out with much more information than BlueScreen Viewer can, no details from that tool is necessary :)
