And I included a screen shot of the chkdsk
I let @Torchwood handle the MGA report.
Your chkdsk is only a scan, it doesn't do anything else. This means that, for example, if there are bad sectors present or the MFT needs correcting, nothing will happen.
If you want to run chkdsk fixing stuff, you would need to add the /f parameter. If any readable data needs to be recovered you would need to use the /r parameter. The /r includes the functionality of the /f parameter, this means that if you use the /r parameter the /f parameter doesn't need to be added.
For example on a Windows partition having the letter C:, I usually suggest to run /r parameter:
This command scans the C: partition for any error, attempts to fix them and if readable data is present in a bad sector it'll be moved to another sector from the reserved part.Code:chkdsk C: /r
For more information about the available parameters and the description, please check following tutorial OPTION TWO Disk Check
Ok I didn't know that
Now it says cannot run because the volume is in use by another program process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts y N I selected yes should I restart now?
So I ran it like you said with the command line you gave me but I wasn't there when it finished so don't know what it did if it did anything. It just restarted Windows . Next step ?
Hi Julie,
Your system is currently in the grace period for activation/validation.
Please run KB971033.
REBOOT
Let windows updates kick in, you only have 3 installed currently.
from your other logs i can see a problem with your media player, please run the MSfixIT before you reboot.
