Hmm might bw worth doing these on the SSD mate simple I know because I am not so well up on those other things like Boris. It certainly will do no harm
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
Disk Check < if necessary include the /f and /r in the command line as per Option2
Run these in safe mode and the sfc often best run for two to three runs – you can leave out the /r switch in ckdsk if you feel it not necessary
NB SFC best run for about three scans

Also I am left wondering if nothing becomes of those then maybe a Seatools check might be worth running on the drive. See this link My Solid State Drive may be defective, how can I test it?

Not to take the spotlight away from John but..

RACE I would recommend that you check with Samsung Magician the health of your SSD.

    Access Denied

    Cheers, Boris :)

Yep go with what Boris has suggested and then try Seatools as I have had issues with the Magician software in the past (it is known for wrecking the USB ports set up for example) and why I didn't suggest it.

    process update

Good Day All! I did reflash both bios last night late. As I said, removed virtual box. will ask on that at end. I have run the scannow 2X both times it returned "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations." After the bios update and VB removal I have run some LR and general stuff now for about 4 hours or a bit more. It was dumping around every 45 min and this is the longest it has run for a bit.
1 removed several small programs and reloaded Google Earth as it was not doing correctly also
2 disconnected all iron drives and ran scannow on SSD
3 tried but failed to do chipsest update. This has been done in last year w/ same result so, I think I have what is available for this MOBO.
4 reflashed bios w/ same as was available. v 1.22 from EVGA I guess this may just get bad over time?
5 late last night I took my life in hand and actually tried to set the CPU and ram in bios! Now have the # 2 bios loaded (reflashed) CPU @ 3.7Ghz (very small increase) Ram is at 2108.2 11-12-12-32 2T. First time I have ever done this and I do see an improvement in renders in LR . So far, So good.
    6. Removed Virtual Box entirely. Reconnected 2 of 4 iron drives. used machine for a while.
    7. Ran scannow again just minutes ago. result above

Now, I have to ask the masters, how is it that a program that is not invoked or running (virtual box) can cause errors in a system. I am ignorant of this logic.

Thank you all for staying with this. I intend to do updates until I am satisfied and then will set this as solved when I believe it is.

Inquiry? what do you all think of CC Cleaner for registry? I hear it is wonderful, terrible, dangerous, safe, indispensable, necessary, depending on the site one visits.

Boris, your signature picture is just wonderful art. If you did that I am in awe.

for icit2lol I just ran chkdsk /f and it did its thing too fast for me to even get the camera to make a photo. I saw no report of thing I did not like as I watched however.

RACE if you want you can check the chkdsk results see this rather than me go through it all
    https://support.4it.com.au/article/h...er-on-windows/

The CCleaner I use all the time and if you are checking the registry and do want to fix the issues just make sure your save the results first (usually to Docs library) because then if things go belly up then you can merge them back into the registry from where you saved them in that location.

I (we all use it pretty well) use CC all the time marvelous tool. Plus if you are deleting Cookies after Analysing - you find them by clicking on Options > Cookies then make sure you save any that are linked to your passworded sites otherwise you will find them having to be logged into again - tedious - just highlight the ones to keep and send them to the right hand listing then go back and Run cleaner.

Well, I got that and see it says some housekeeping and no report of bad stuff. thank you for that easy link, bookmarked now. For the life of me I have no idea how to insure that I see replies from you real time. I have to reload, row around, it just seems random how to find a reply here. Is there a setting you know of in the forum? Thank you all, so far today it is better than the last 9 days have been.

RACE mate you should just get an email from the forum - just check your email is in your profile and it is usually a few seconds to minutes that that takes as posts are monitored by the forum admin (moderators) to ensure that nothing untoward is being posted ie that you are using bad language or accidentally giving out your activation coded to outright illegal stuff.

CC I keep pinned to the taskbar as I use it so much as well as other programs I like quick access to see pic.

If you want something is very handy and I like to call it my bible it is this and I keep this on my favourites/bookmarks it is a tutorial by the master Brink and if it will make a lot of difference to your machines performance as long as you don't mind losing some of the "bling" like transparency for example.

Thank you for that, will keep it in mind. Most helpful of both of you. I do hope Boris is still on, I do have a question about the dumps. As of now the machine has run over 24 hours now w/o a barf...er..I mean BSOD. I has even run Lightroom which has been the challenge in which most of the bad was happening. A big WELL DONE to you both.

WELL, as usual, spoke too soon. Thirty minutes back it started just hanging the mouse and music stutter lock. wait a bit, it comes out for a few seconds. I am assuming that this overclocking thing is just not doable no matter how small it is. I have never had it work. BSOD and thus a new dump after a while. I have put it all back to defaults now. shall see. For Boris if you could, I would like to see if the other dumps have other issues in them. Still, better than was.
