explorer.exe crashes (affects both my PC and Laptop)

Im finding it kind of strange.. mainly because it seems to be the same issue yet there are differences between both the setups that dont make allot of sense.

generally this random occasional explorer.exe crash usually happens when l view a folder, now generally l have at least one folder open so sometimes just maximizing the folder from my task bar has been enough to cause the issue, other times opening folders and sometimes right clicks do it as well.

the one thing l have sort of noticed is it tends to happen around folders containing video files, or at least lve been around those types of folders at the times l remember it happening, the latest crash happened when right clicking and deleting a folder containing mkv files, now compared to my laptop explorer service restarts tend to happen pretty much instantly tho my spec helps in that respect but its much more sluggish when it happens on my laptop.

the thing is, it feels like a recent issue.. my previous installation before my upgrade never had this issue and the only real things that changed is more ram, different motherboard and a new SSD everything else is pretty much the same.. as for the laptop many differences there..

however with regards to software l guess both the laptop and PC have a similar setup albeit different versions of CCCP (which is worth noting due to the earlier mention of video files).. however it would be kind of interesting to find out whats causing it on two very different systems because lm drawing a blank currently.
