Yep thats good for example downloads that take a long time to do ie the AV, mail server, Office programs etc the install then is the shortest part.

    known folder errors

Hello ICIT2OL, I seem to have found the answer to known folder errors for me. All the errors on startup
    were c:/windows/sys32/config/systemprofile/appdata/roaming/microsoft/windows.
I used copy and paste for all missing folders.
I then went to system32/config/systemprofile/appdata/roaming/Microsoft/windows/ and clicked paste
to place my user files that were not there, and I have not yet had any known folder errors on startup
yet, so fingers crossed this will stay working.:)

Great to hear Ethel and well done for finding a fix - that would not have occurred to me to be honest as I usually go looking for hardware as causes for things:).

    known folder errors

Hello again ICIT2OL, I was surprised it worked. As I was doing it I was thinking I would cause more errors,
    but it worked.:)

Yep mate stranger things happen at sea they say and sometimes from from completely the opposite direction you have been looking at.
For example my Ivy Bridge desktop dropped it's bundle a while ago - losing access to the USB ports and a canny member pointed the finger at the Samsung Magician SSD software and uninstalled it and back came the USB ports - something that never have would occurred to me

To ICIT2OL, It is funny how sometimes you will spend so much time looking for something everywhere,
and it turns out something so simple that takes about 5 minutes.

Yes Ethel and sometimes even less than five minutes because that is all it took for me to uninstall that software I mentioned.

    known folder errors

Hello ICIT2OL, I guess being a fusspot, I have to find out everything that goes wrong. Sometimes you
can drive yourself nuts looking for things. I know a lot of other people who don't look at anything to do
with errors, and don't care. I am not one of them unfortunately. I hope I am not doing the wrong thing
    here chatting backwards and forwards.:)

Look the issue is closed and I can see no problem if we or anyone else for that matter cannot discuss such things - some would say it is OT but as far as I am concerned us exchanging thoughts is not interfering with anyone else if the problem has been resolved - marked as solved:)
