Hello and welcome Ed5555 now this is pointing to a hard drive problem and it would be really good if it were possible to see dump files for the machine. Of course it might not be just the hard drive but other components too and viruses etc etc
What would be good is to see your system specs System Info - See Your System Specs as it is very hard to advise when one is not aware of what one is dealing with.
Now as to the machine not booting (not even in safe mode?) take a read through this to see if anything here can get around that Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot
Now assuming you have your data backed up then maybe we can get through the issue ok - if on the other hand you haven't don't get worried because there ways of retrieving data even if the drive is dying or sometimes dead.
