BSOD during wifi usage and only with certain access points

    Hello,

I am an IT support analyst for a law firm, and a user of mine runs into frequent BSOD's when connecting to his home wifi network. This has been an ongoing issue for him, despite driver updates from Lenovo. The last occurrence was caused by a BAD_POOL_HEADER @ dnelwf64.sys which through my research led me to think it was related to the Citrix DNE LightWeight Filter Driver, which SonicWALL (our VPN client) utilizes. Strange though because at the time this user was not connected to our VPN and was simply browsing the web on IE. Further digging led me to realize that regardless of currently using the VPN or not, the wireless connection still utilizes the DNE LightWeight Filter, per the attached screenshot.

Beyond this user, we've had multiple other users experiencing BSOD's, all while doing the same thing (browsing the web @ home on wifi), but each with different causes in accordance to the memory dumps. I had another user that BSOD'd at home but her cause was a BAD_POOL_HEADER @ nwifi.sys, but I'll probably start another thread so as to not derail this thread.

The laptops in question are brand new Lenovo T460s's with Windows 7 x64 SP1.

If I missed any information please let me know.

    Many thanks,

    -donovan

    Hi thedonovan,

Welcome to the 7forums and apologies for the delay.

Are you still in need of help?

I have deployed an updated version of our VPN client, which in turn has updated dnelwf64.sys. I haven't heard anything from that user yet so unless I'm told otherwise we can assume that this issue has been fixed.
