PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED STOP: 0X0000006B - stuck in Safe Mode
Ok I was trying to fix a computer a Windows 7 laptop. It would boot to a BSOD even in safemode.
The error message was PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED STOP: 0X0000006B. I found a solution that worked temporarily. That was going to c:\windows\system32\codeintegrity, you’ll find there a file bootcat.cache which is very probably corrupted and deleting it. It worked for a while until I tried running Malwarebytes and it seemed to have got hung up on it's root kit scanning.
So I decided to restart in safe mode and run a scan from there but I chose to do it through the msconfig utility. Then the BSOD popped up again and I cannot disable safe mode. The computer tries to boot to safe mode but again the BSOD pops up.
How do I disable Safe mode through booting up of a Windows install DVD in recovery mode?
Already tried system restore a number of times. Booted up of a usb flash drive and ran Dr. Webs Cureit. It found and deleted a few things but still. It tries to start up in safe mode and then goes to the BSOD. Any suggestions?
Start up repair did nothing either.
update: I managed to get her out of safemode using this guide; Safe Mode
but I still got the BSOD issue.
