    BSOD atikmpag.sys

*MY LAPTOP HAS A SWITCHABLE GRAPHICS CARD*

I uninstalled both AMD RADEON HD 7600M Series (Dedicated GPU) & INTEL HD 4000 (Motherboard GPU) fully + the registries. The Laptop recognizes the total available video memory of the 2 GPU's when both of the drivers are in VGA mode. I downloaded & installed the latest version of AMD (15.200.1062.1004) and the latest Intel (10.18.10.4226). (I HAVE TRIED WITH EARLIER VERSIONS OF BOTH BECAUSE I THOUGHT THAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM.) I installed the drivers via extracting the .exe files and installing it via device manager. The drivers both installed with no problems. When I enable them both, and restart the laptop, the device boots up until it loads the desktop, then it sometimes either freezes and unfreezes for a couple of times, or freezes then goes to black screen and the blue screen with the "atikmpag.sys" error. I have tried the CMD EXPAND.exe method but still no luck. I have also cleaned the laptop with a strong air pressure gun, (which made the fan noise so much more quiet) but still no luck with the GPU problem. When I disable either one of the 2 drivers, the other one doesn't work (Which means they are linked) but the laptop boots up normally with no problem. The strange thing I have found out is that when I was on Windows 10, the 2 GPU drivers were not linked, which meant I could still use the Intel HD 4000 GPU and have AMD disabled (Which caused no BSOD but weak graphics card) it worked vise-versa too. So the only problem I could think of is that it has something to do with when it triggers the "switchable" mode and makes it BSOD. Either that or my dedicated GPU card is fried? If so, where could I find a replacement one, or a even better one?

Hello and welcome Debug mate it is my understanding that dual GPU laptops (I'm on my Asus G750JM (dual GPU's) right now) that the add on GPU ie the AMD in your case - and the Intel HD graphics work on their own as the load becomes greater. For example if you are just emailing, posting on this forum, browsing etc the Intel graphics are in use and when the load increases say you start gaming and reasonably hard gaming the secondary GPU takes over.
Luckily I have an NVIdia GPU in addition to the Intel stuff and I do not have any problems mind you I don't game that much.
Now if the dump is showing that atikmpag.sys then the usual suggestion is to uninstall the Catalyst Control Centre and use only the device driver for the card. Now a quick Google gives me this for that GPU APU I would be trying that but the choice is yours.
Now as for the dump files mate there is nothing (BSOD's) in the zip file you attached. So can you please redo the report so that we can see them. However in msinfo32 there is what is in my pic.

Thanks for the response. First of all, that's strange that the .zip doesn't contain any BSOD, because I ran the program right after one, I will upload another one soon. The other thing, I know how the switchable GPU works, and my aim is to get both of them to work if possible instead of just one. I can always go back to windows 10 from 7 and use just my intel one, but I want to try get the AMD one fixed if possible. I currently don't have any AMD Catalyst Control Center installed, as I just have the driver for it installed. I have tried installing the AMD CCC but it doesn't help. Currently im trying the link you sent to see if that will do anything, I'll keep you updated.

Graphics device driver error code 43

Windows stopped your device because it reported problems. Try this:

    1. Open Start, enter (or type) Device Manager, and select Device Manager from the list of results.
    2. Find your broken device in the list (it will often have a yellow exclamation point next to it).
    3. Right-click (or press and hold) the name of the device, select Uninstall, and select OK.
    4. At the top of the list of devices in Device Manager, right-click (or press and hold) the name of your PC, and select Scan for hardware changes. This reinstalls the device driver.
    5. To see if this fixed the problem, right-click (or press and hold) the name of the device and on the General tab, under Device status, you should see This device is working properly. If you don’t see this message, check the info that came with your device or contact the manufacturer.

In your case this is because the installed driver is for W10 only
suspect the same for AMD drivers
When you downgrade check your comps homepage for ALL driver changes that are OS specific

I have tried downloading many different versions of my GPU driver. I have tried the latest one that says it was compatable with Windows 10, and still no luck. I went back to windows 8 (the os that my laptop originally came with) and downloaded the driver that was listed on my laptops homepage for drivers. Still got BSOD. Then I tried windows 7 (current one) and downloaded the windows 7 version and other older versions and still BSOD. The BSOD occurs when the device detects a switchable graphics card command. I have had success in not getting BSOD with BOTH of the GPU drivers enabled, but then as soon as I try going on chrome, etc... I get the BSOD.
