    Blank Screen

I was using my computer last night and shut it down properly and everything was fine. I turned it on this afternoon and nothing comes on the screen. The computer and windows boot up fine because i typed in my password and logged in and used the keys to shut it down, so the problem is the screen. The backlight turns on, but it does not show anything, just black. Please help me fix this.

That definitely sounds like a cold solder joint or more, inside the monitor's case on the board, involving capacitor(s).

It can easily be fixed by resoldering. You should research the exact monitor on Google to see if others have had the problem and done the same. This way, you know what to look for and go straight to it.

But wait a sec - are you saying that you can see the password screen but then it goes bad after you hit enter?

No no. I cannot see anything at all. I found out that windows loaded because i decided to type in my password when my comp stopped loading even though i couldn't see anything and it logged me in. and then i used the windows button on the keyboard to get to the start menu and from there are shut it down; all without anything on the screen.

Right. Then almost definitely a cold solder joint needs a little help from a soldering iron.

Usually, you can just heat the problem joint until the solder remelts and problem fixed.

But you have to research which joint(s) to resolder and hope the info is available from other users already.

If not, you really have to know what you're doing.
