I clicked the start up repair and it told me start up repair could not detect a problem but when I click the view diagnostics and repair details it tells me number of repair attempts 2 and number of root causes 1.

Im also going to say I opened the computer to look at the cpu and there was no thermal paste, I put some more on it but it was older paste is that a problem?

Sorry late reply mate now when you say there was no paste just how did you find that out?? Now before you put more on you should have cleaned the old stuff off first it is really important to do that because any old stuff left behind just might not let the new stuff do what it is supposed to do.
The compound you used just what was it?? We need to know because we do not want you wrecking the machine for the few minutes it takes to do the compound properly.

When you said the cpu might be overheating I opened the computer to look at the paste, I cleaned the old stuff off and and put more on the pack says its called titan but it had been used before about a few months ago.
