    BSOD while playing assassins creed 1

    i got a blue screen of death while playing assassins creed 1. i also get blue screens in any modern (after 2007) video game i play after about 10 mins of playing.

    my system:
    Windows 7 professional service pack 1
    Intel pentium CPU G3258 @ 3.2 GHz (not overclocked)
    RAM : Kingston HyperX Fury Blue Series DDR3, 2x4GB, 1600 MHz
    system type : 64 bit
    Geforce GTX 660
    Motherboard: gigabyte GA-H81M-S1
    580 W PSU
    direct x version: 11

    i installed the latest drivers for the motherboard and video card, i deactivated all my programs running in the background, i deactivated my audio drivers to see if they cause the problem, i removed 1 ram stick at a time to see if they are faulty, i tried windows 10, i installed all the updates for windows 7, i still have this problem.

    i also have a dmp (the crash dump file) of the event. how do i upload it here?

    Hi DHammer,
    The dump logs are present in the upload, no worries there.

    Im not a BSOD expert, they'll be along later
    BUT
    from the event logs.

    This is being generated by AVG, can you check its log and tell us the originating program
    The ScRegSetValueExW call failed for FailureActions with the following error:
    Access is denied.

    The Windows Search service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 40 time(s).
    please run sfc /scannow (note the space)

    This is odd the publisher, should be Microsoft
    It was possibly downloaded with 1 of your games.
    DisplayName"="Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x64) - 11.0.50727 False"
    "DisplayVersion"="11.0.50727.1"
    "Publisher"="Корпорация Майкрософт"

    I would REMOVE it, re-install from MS

    also i want to note that check disk started running right after my pc crashed, and the check disk found errors which it fixed.

    AVG is my antivirus, what do you mean check its originating program? avg comes from avg.com

    ''please run sfc /scannow (note the space)''
    i have done so and after reaching 100% the command prompt closed itself imediately. i think all was ok.

    i removed the russian visual c++ redistributable

    i rebooted but nothing happened.

    i didnt need to reinstall visual c++ redistributable because this was installed by battlefield 4 a while ago and it wasnt mandatory for the pc to run properly. even if i wanted to reinstall it i dont know the name of the exact redistributable package i uninstalled (it was in russian).

    i uploaded my avg log files.

    Hi Dhammer,
    the 2012 re-distributable is only available from MS, any other download is likely non-genuine.

    please run this tool, copy/paste both logs
    Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Download

    scan >>only<< with the same options as the screenshot.

    can i just run the seatools for windows? I have done this in the past and i know how to do it, doing it from DOS looks incredibly complicated and i would like to avoid doing that if possible.
