BSOD with mouse pointer on MacBook Pro running Win7
Hi,
I am using a MacBook Pro 2008 with approx 190Gb Win7 partition and 60Gb OSX partition. I work on Win7 all the time. Since last five days my laptop is showing BSOD with the mouse cursor. I have tried most of the options available on Internet and your forum but it hasn't helped. I am attaching the full CBS.log output (zipped) of:
sfc /scannow /offwindir=c:\windows /offbootdir=c:\
Also attached is output of the string search from CBS.log where "[SR] Cannot repair" string appears. Major chunk of these files are with mui extension. For others the file sizes seemed to be same for all versions so I wasn't sure if they are corrupt or not. I also need to know from where I can get original files.
Output of ntbootlog.txt of today morning when I tried that option after using F8 on boot is also attached.
My issue is exactly the same as: Windows 7: Win7 Black screen of death with cursor on all boot modes
except that instead of cursor I see a mouse pointer.
I cannot get Windows to run anyhow I try - Ctrl-Alt-Del doesn't work, multiple shift key presses, mouse right click, task mgr etc, nothing works. I haven't been able to run MalwareBytes also although I had AVG Free installed. The exact hardware configuration is mentioned in my profile. Earlier OSX was also not booting but after initial bootrec /fixmbr, /fixboot & /RebuildBcd it started booting and works fine. Which implies that the hardware is all ok including the SSD disk & Graphic card. I have also run chkdsk which doesn't show any errors after three passes. I have tried "Startup Repair" after booting from Win7 new DVD, it initially did a lot of things (first day after BSOD) but now doesn't give many errors. I don't have any Restore points or rescue disk.
If I press Power button when the system is booted then it goes on standby and comes back on pressing again but black screen doesn't go away. Caps lock etc work which implies the system is working. I was hoping that I wouldn't need to format and reinstall Win7 somehow. Let me know if you see a possibility of that.
Thanks
Amal
