Win 7 64bit BSOD at shut down - cannot generate BSOD using tool
I built a new ASUS X99-E-WS desktop but went backward and installed my OS of choice Win 7. Most things worked find and/or have been fixed during the past week of loading sw programs and troubleshooting bugs. Later in the day yesterday I added the ASUS ultilty for fanXpert which appeared to work. Restore was set up for the C:\ drive on day one and many restore points have been created with Win updates and adding SW.
Last night it shut down properly (or so I thought) This morning I had no video from my surviellance camera (composite RCA plug input via a Hauppauge ImpactVCB, model 71200 PCIe card). I then tried using my alternate connection a old Sony camcorder with RCA composite video in and firewire out. The win 7 machine did not have access via the microsoft input on ispy. When restarting the first two times, I had to use the reset button. The third time I let it sit there for what seemed like 10 min which ultimately resorted to a BSOD. I downloaded the dump tool and ran it and it got to one of the further steps and stopped which yielded yet another BSOD.
After going into another start I tried to go back and use restore to back out what was added late in the day yesterday - RESTORE REPORTS IT IS SHUT OFF. I reset it for C:\ drive but it reports NO RESTORE POINTS HAVE BEEN CREATED ON YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM DRIVE.
Any suggestions?
