BSOD Playing Video Games (mostly) or randomly - going on for so long

    Hi guys,

My computer is a custom build and pretty much ever since I started using it since 2013 has had random blue screens. At the beginning they were not frequent so I didn't worry about them, plus I was young. They got more and more frequent over time and I recently formatted my whole PC and reinstalled Windows 7. I thought the blue screens would be gone but they appear again - mostly when I am playing video games and sometimes randomly. It is a big problem because I hate being kicked out of video games for blue screening! Here are the bluescreens I have had in the past few days. This problem has been plauging me for a while and any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

You have a counterfeit installation of Windows 7.
Your are using a Asus Notebook COA key on a aftermarket Asus Desktop motherboard.

    From your log.
    ASUS_</OEMID><OEMTableID>Notebook</OEMTableID
All Windows License Type: OEM SLP COA keys are only legal on the system they were first installed and activated on.

You will need to get a legal Windows 7 and matching legal COA key.
Be very careful because their are a lot of illegal Windows 7 being sold.
I seriously doubt you will find one at places like eBay.

Thank you for figuring out the problem Jack. I knew there was something fishy about the windows 7 I bought.. Bummer this has been causing all the problems. Please reply with more info about the COA key - will getting a legitimate copy of windows overcome this problem or are they both separate?

Thanks Jack, do you think upgrading to a legitimate copy of windows 10 would help?

if you upgrade to windows10 it will replace the windows files into proper files plus you got added bonus of script proptection i rather do that than try to use your creditcard online windows 10 upgrade will be better also the drivers and games will or might not be compatiable first check first before you upgrade because theere isnt a downgrader for windows yet!!

Thank you guys! I've decided to install windows 10, hopefully it will fix my issue. I have had it since I very first built my desktop which had a counterfeit version of windows on it as well. Hopefully this will fix it once and for all. Thank you so much!

Install a legal Windows 7 or 10 is a start in the proper direction.
If you install W-10 we have a sister site I recommend joining.
