Attempting reset display driver from timeout failed
Greetings.
Gigabyte g41m-es2l LGA 775
E5400
VS 550 psu
2x2gb RAM DDR2
Gigabyte RX 550 2gb
Just little back story , this problem has been happen since 5 years ago. About 2 years ago my old GPU is Sapphire HD 5550, and this BSOD still happen a lot at that time. It only happen when i play games , all games but if i play dota 2 it usually end with this BSOD , if any other game it usually just error/warning that display driver has stop responding and has successfully recovered. Then my GPU died , for 1 and half year i play only WoW with integrated intel hd graphics and it's weird that this BSOD NEVER happen , so i thought that it's my GPU fault. I decide to buy a new GPU the RX 550 from gigabyte. And this problem happening again.
What i did , replace with new HDD , check my memory with windows memory diagnostic and it found no error/problem, update my Motherboard bios, increase the TDR in registry from 2 to 8 to 10 , disable all settings in visual like aero etc, it didn't work. My GPU driver is the latest one from AMD.
PS : When i play without GPU last years i notice that sometimes i hear that sounds that it looks like it's about to BSOD in lest than half second but it didn't when i play games i'm sure we all know that sounds when BSOD happen. It might be a clue i don't know if that's related to this.
I think it was software related problem because it only happen during game. But somehow i have a feelings that it was my memory or pcie slot/motherboard faulty , because that 2 component is the oldest , it's already 12 years old. But pc hardware in my country is really expensive cost 30-50 dollar more and it's hard for me to buy a new one i just buy new monitor and GPU. I can only pray and hope it's not hardware problem. But i always wondering why this never happen when i play with onboard/integrated intel graphics?? this is the one that gives me confusion.
