See if you can run this command in an admin command prompt.
Code:

Thanks so much for this instruction, I somehow was able to find the folder and just zip up the files before I saw your reply. I bought this system already custom-built, and try my best to fiddle with the settings, but the above instructions are a bit above my technical skill level. Hopefully the .zip file I uploaded has the right info.

Again, I bought this system already setup with original Windows 7 Home and many other programs, so I did not want to do a clean install of Windows and lose the existing setup...

Not wiping the drive quite often results in huge problems such as authentity theft or fraud in situations where the OS and some programs are already installed.

How do I do this without losing my files? Do I simply buy office license, uninstall existing copy and install a fresh one?

As requested, got rid of all remnants of the previous office installations (for some reason this pc had both 2007 and 2013) and I purchased and installed office 2016 following instructions in this link: How to activate Office 2016 Pro

Will this solve the BSOD issue?

It is not an option for me to format my computer, it would be like losing a limb at this point, trying to backup every little file, re-setup preferences and add-ons and plugins, restore the folder structures and chase and reinstall gazillion little programs like calibre and irfanview and 7zip. So this is the best I can do right now.

Any help is much appreciated.
