Windows 7: BSOD when using Skype or Discord App

BSOD when using Skype or Discord App

Hey all, as stated in the title I'm getting the BSOD when I run Skype of the Discord App. I've helped build this computer as a bonding exercise with my S.O.'s dad, and it had had its share of problems over the years (the computer that is ). I can run online games without problem, but not being able to chat with friends as we play is a real downer!

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and please let me know if you need more info!

@axe0
pretty sure its a retail icence.

Windows updates are a problem tho
suspect there are packages missing, causing requied Skype updates to fail

please run SURT, KB947821
post the logs - it might fail

also like to see the results of this tool
http://www.sysnative.com/niemiro/apps/SFCFix.exe

I know the license is retail, just wanted to confirm something with the updates as a lot of fixes are not installed :)

Thanks for replying!

Here are the results from your diagnostic tool.

@torchwood
I ran your two tools, and the results of the sysnative program are below this report. The System Update Readiness tool ran, and I installed a "Hotfix for Windows (KB947821)", but I couldn't find a log to post. Can you direct me to where I can find it.

Again, thank you both for your help. :)

Hi Solbriller,

I have some of the files to repair your system but not all.

To make things easier can you post the logs at the Sysnative forum, Windows update sub-forum, they have a bigger library than me

be advised they are usually quite busy
keep Sfcfix on your desktop.
