BSOD... yet not.

I was browsing the internet yesterday on my ASUS ROG G75VW while using Iobit Driver Update v.4 when my laptop crashed and attempted to reboot. No BSOD showed (hence the title) and now it won't even go far enough into the boot sequence to reach the BIOS as indicated by no splash screen and no sound (something I set in the BIOS a while back). It won't even come far enough to read my Windows installation disk. Suggestions?

UPDATE: I'll try and keep this brief. On inspiration, I pulled the battery and unplugged the laptop after my initial post, then plugged it in sans battery and fired it up. It worked like a charm so I ran WhoCrashed and it said my video driver (nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 364.72 , NVIDIA Corporation) ) was at fault. Further investigation suggested that it was caused by what M$ refers to as a BCC116/BCC117 error relating to my GPU overheating. This makes sense because the machine sat overnight and most of today prior to my attempting to restart it, yet doesn't because wouldn't my internal graphics take over if the GPU goes toes up for some reason? FYI, the GPU is an NVIDIA 660M (2 GB). And how would my graphics card not allow my laptop to even reach the BIOS?! This is all good information but I'm still confused and any further help would be appreciated.

Hi Whisperss,

Driver update progs are notorious for installing incompatable drivers.
And yes your other post re only 1 working fan is likely related to the same problem updates

If you can rollback to a restore point prior to updating do so.
DONT run the driver updater.
If not boot into safe mode and try the Last Known good option
