Sounds like your Nvidia video driver is causing this. Go to the Nvidia website and get the latest driver for your video card. Be sure to get the 32-bit driver. If necessary, install it while in Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking.

I have uninstalled the nvidIa graphic driver and restarted the computer it then starts up in normal mode with everything working but then installs the driver again and then asked for a restart so I restart it any it doesn't start up again

    Hi Skill,

back to safe mode run the program from this tutorial
Display Driver Uninstaller: How to use - Windows 7 Help Forums

This will revert your system back to MS generic drivers.
BEFORE you go back to NORMAL mode
We need to turn off driver updates

Once back in normal you can update the driver manually from Nvidea hope you can remember the last good driver version.

Hi roy I have downloaded the software to uninstall the nivida card and before I done that I tried to find the programme to stop the automatic update and my computer couldn't find the Pacific programme. So I done some more research and it said to try to stop the automatic update in windows update service. As soon as I tried to run it in safe mode it wouldn't run Windows update is there anything else I can try please

    Hi Skilleddd

You dont need to turn off ALL of Windows updates, JUST the driver part, see my last post.
IT does not need to be done by running a program, its a user settings option
Turn off Windows 7 Automatic Driver Installation - Windows 7 Help Forums

    Dont know what Pacific is

Windows Updates CANNOT run in Safe mode, the OS was designed that way.
(certain required files are not included, in this mode)

    Hi roy

I have managed to disable my display driver. This has the computer up and running in normal mode for now but I stuck on what I can actually do to now. I know it's the driver preverting it to start up and can't find any way to update the driver manually. Would it help me going and buying a better one ?

    Hi Skilled,

Now youve got a reliable working system, create an image
Imaging with free Macrium - Windows 7 Help Forums

Now you can play around to your hearts content and if your system fails, youll be back up and running in less than 15mins.

This might sound silly but the MS generic drivers on your system are not that bad, unless your using it for gaming..
They are out of date tho, to update them open device manager, select it >>right click>update.

On that window there will be an unknown device, this will be for your graphics card.
If you need/want to update it goto the Nvidea driver homepage
INSTALL their system checker, it will then give you the option to install the complete package or just the driver, only install the complete package if you game.
