Windows 7: Driver_power_state_failure

22 Nov 2009   #1

Windows 7 Professional

I received two BSOD's last night while downloading some data from a newsgroup:

The first BSOD pointed to my wireless adapter. I updated it to the latest driver and again began my download.

About 5 hours later I got the 2nd BSOD:

After re-booting Win7 informed me that the system had recovered from an unexpected shutdown with the following details:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 9f
BCP1: 00000003
BCP2: 868C7568
BCP3: 8313BAE0
BCP4: AB2C7238
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 256_1

Win 7 checked but gave me no message indicating that it had found a solution.

My Wireless adapter is Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN with the following properties:
Driver Date: 9/15/2009
Driver Version
Power Management
Allow Computer to turn off this device - checked

I went to Computer Management/Event Viewer/Windows Log/System and copied the following error information:

I find it interesting the Microsoft spells Browser wrong but.....

FYI - Firefox is my default bowser.

I have been fighting continued connection drop errors (posted elsewhere in this forum) but these are the first BSODs.

Anyone have an idea what might be going on?

Hello, been getting random shutdown hangs, normally after I've left the PC on for a while. I wanted to upgrade my SSD to a Samsung Pro 500GB using their cloning software, but it froze the SSD. So I returned it. I still have my Vertex SSD 256GB. Since then been getting the DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE...
