BSODs, white screens and just freezing after graphic driver update?
Hello,
a while back, I installed a game from Steam without checking the minimum requirements. It was a sequel to a game I had played without any problems. Anyways, some people in the forums were able to play it after updating their graphics driver so after looking at the ATI website where I could not find an updated version, I used Driver Booster to understand whether my driver was updated and it said it was not so I allowed Driver Booster to update it - along with some other drivers (for Intel controllers if I remember it correctly). I believe that is where I started seeing problems. White screens with distorted horizontal lines and computer crashes. BSOD while typing in my browser or working in docs. And just freezing of the overall systems where I needed to restart the system. This has also happened in safe mode. Prior to installing the game, I never had any issues.
What I tried to resolve this: Uninstalled the game, checked device manager for drivers that have yellow ! s. I even did a system restore but was not able to go back far enough as it would only store the last 5 restore points.
I have used WhoCrashed to analyze the mini dump files and it seems like it is caused by a software driver (or more)?
Just an FYI: I have never updated the BIOS. ('don't fix it if it ain't broken')

THANK YOU so much for looking into this and your advice!
