    Random BSOD on restart.

I have not had any BSOD for a few years and recently I got one on a restart. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

    Hi Bryan,

You appear to be running a non genuine system

An Asus OEM product key on a Retail motherboard.

As this forum does not support piracy no further help can be provided until you purchase a genuine product

Yeah no worries bud. This is the second PC my friend has built for me, so I need to have a chat with him and I also need to brush up on learning these kinds of things better so I can spot them.

Hey Pitt mate look we are always suspicious of Ultimate installs and you would not believe the number of members or people who have posted in this forum with counterfeit copies of it and to be frank Ultimate really is not what it sounds like as most general users will find Pro the most you would need even Home Premium is not that sloppy either. .

Now it does depend on how much you are prepared to pay for Windows of course but if you buy a key/licence then you can download th ISO for it and just use that key to activate it and there are a few tutorials in here that will give you how to clean install if you don't want your friend installing for you and you would be safer doing that to be honest here is one such tutorial where you can get that ISO form the links within it.
Clean Install Windows 7 - Windows 7 Help Forums

Having said that I think you might find that you can only get keys for Pro or Ultimate and the cost will be applicable too.

Now unless it is imperative that you have Windows you could try a Linux OS too and that is going to cost you nothing it is a bit different to Windows but once you get into it it really is very good. Just food for thought.
