Could you run the command in safe mode then.
OK, I've run the command in Safe Mode only, and here is the result. Doesn't seem any different. If the solution doesn't come, I'll just buy a new computer. I understand it's a nearly 8-year-old computer.
On a second look at your posts, I would go for the new pc. Crashes in any safe mode is not good.
Before buying a new computer, try running Linux on it, to see if the problems exist while running Linux. If the problems don't exist in Linux, then a clean install of Windows will likely fix the problems.
Go to Linuxmint.com and download one of the .ISO files. Create a bootable DVD from it, and boot your computer to the DVD. This will let you run Linux without having to install it on your computer.
Agree with axe0!
I'm of the opinion that it's most likely hardware, i.e., mobo or hdd or both. Irregardless, a computer that old with issues such as yours isn't worth the cost of part replacement. You can purchase a used machine with warranty for a decent price.
FYI: As of my last check, M$ is still permitting free upgrades from Win7, & 8.1 to Win10, albeit, counter to their claims.
@mrjimphelps,
Have you perused OP's previous posts? OP has several threads and pages of attempts to correct this issue with numerous well-versed BSOD members.
I have not looked through his previous posts; I read only this one. It looks like a hardware issue; but an easy way to find out for sure is to boot to Linux Live and try to do several different tasks as a test. If he finds that all is well while in Linux, then he will know that it was not likely a hardware issue, but rather a Windows issue.
An added benefit is that he will get to see what Linux is all about; he might decide he likes Linux better than Windows.
Back to your point, I am familiar with people who post questions, and then for whatever reason don't pay attention to the suggestions that people make.
Thanks for everyone's input. I am not a very computer literate person. While using Linux might be a good idea, I'm a pretty incompetent guy when it comes to computer issues. I've decided to take the advice of 2 of the helpers and just buy a new computer. THanks!
