BSOD in addition to computer freezes and monitor turn offs

Hi, my 7.5-year-old Windows 7 i5 Gateway desktop has been acting up for the past week. It would sometimes:

1) Freeze requiring a reboot
2) The monitors (I have 2) would go blank by themselves.
3) BSOD's

I system-restored to an earlier date 6-18-18 a couple of days ago (around 7-1, I think), but it didn't help.

I've followed all the instructions listed here (Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions - Windows 7 Help Forums), but it didn't provide much info so I also did the steps here with your SF Diagnostic Tool (and where the tool didn't show any info, I manually put those in).

I've included both folders in my attached zip file.

Please help. I have no idea what's happening. When I boot in Safe Mode, the computer runs fine so this means it's a software (driver?) issue, right, not a hardware issue. Thanks!

Hi Ray2003,
Not necessarily driver.
Did you check your drivers for in Device Manager and for updates?
Numerous failures to connect to service. Do you have Windows Update enabled?
Click in searchbox type cmd, right click on cmd choose Run as Administrator
at > type
sfc /scannow
may take a while to complete
did it find any system file errors? If so, did it report them fixed?

I've perused your previous posts, same computer with BSOD problems and you apparently didn't finish responding to others assisting you as well as doing your own thing (self-repair) on numerous occasions.
What's up with that?
Personally, I'd purchase another desktop computer! If you wish to keep win7 as your OS I'd look into a decent, used machine with warranty from provider.

HI, thanks for the info. I've followed each step as described:

1) I checked Device Manager. There's no warning beside any driver.

2) I ran Scannow as described. There were no errors.

3) I updated all the Window updates.

Afterwards, last night, I ran the computer, and it seemed fine. This morning, however, right after I logged in< I got another BSOD (please see screenshot).

I wasn't aware that I didn't follow instructions before (I apologize, but the BSOD issues had disappeared before--though now, of course, they've come back). Of course, the easiest solution is to buy a new computer, but I'm a bit broke right now. I will if I have to, but if there could be a fix, that'll be better (again, the computer seems to work fine in Safe Mode).

Is there anything I could do? Any help would be sincerely appreciate--and I promise to follow each instruction to a T from now on. Thanks!

OK, I've done the steps, using the DM Log. The problems have worsened. I tried running the SF Diagnostic Tool, but the computer BSOD's even before it could run through half the steps, even in Safe Mode. I'm attaching the DM Log here. If there's no fix, I think I'll just bite the bullet and buy a new computer. But please let me know if you see anything. THanks!!!

Most of the files don't contain any data, please try the following instead to collect logs:
  • Open an admin command prompt
  • Copy & paste the code below in the command prompt
  • Go to your desktop
  • Right click CollectedFiles folder and choose sent to and select compressed (zipped) folder
  • Upload the zip.

If your computer works fine in Safe Mode, then there could be a service running which is messing things up. Here's how you can see if this is the case, and fix it if it is:

Go into Safe Mode. Run MSCONFIG. Click on the Services tab. Check the box which says Hide all Microsoft Services. After you do this, only the non-Microsoft services will be showing. Disable all of these non-Microsoft services. Click Apply, then reboot into Normal mode.

If this has fixed the problem, you know that the problem is caused by one or more of the non-Microsoft services. You now have a choice: Leave them all disabled, or enable all except the problematic one (or two).

Leave them all disabled: If you do this, there may be some important functionality that won't work, such as your antivirus program or perhaps an auto-update program.

Enable all except the problematic one: This is the best option, in my opinion, because you will eliminate only the problem, nothing else. Here's how to do it:
* Go back into MSCONFIG, and go to the services tab. Enable one service (pick any one). Click apply, and reboot.
** If the problem has not returned, then the service you just enabled was not the problem. Repeat the above step, enabling another service this time, and rebooting afterward. Keep doing this until you have gone through all services.
** If the problem has returned, then the service you just enabled was the problem. Note the name of that service, reboot into Safe Mode, and run MSCONFIG. Disable that service, apply, and reboot. Be sure to check the rest of the services, to make sure that there aren't any more problematic services.

If disabling all non-Microsoft services did not fix the problem, then reboot into Safe Mode, run MSCONFIG, click on the services tab, and re-enable all the services.

I had a computer which was so slow as to be unusable. I was able to fix it using the above method.

OK, thanks, I am attaching the collected files zip here. There doesn't seem to have much info.

One thing: the computer is UNSTABLE even in Safe Mode, at least Sage Mode with Networking. It will BSOD even in Safe Mood with Networking.
