7 BSODs all different codes mostly files in Ntfs.sys and ntoskrnl.exe

    Hello!

Trying to fix my mother's fairly new (6 months old) HP Pro Book with my amateur knowledge of computers. Also that is why the zipped file is called FairyQueen because I like to mock her with that nickname.

Windows auto update has been on so it has all those updates. She's also got Malwarebytes running and some HP Bloat Ware I haven't bothered removing.

I think since most all of these BSODs have Ntfs.sys in them it could be a bad hard drive, but let me know what you guys think because I could be way off!

    Hi QuicksandSlowly,
    Welcome to SevenForums!
Your system specs don't help! They should be for the ailing machine!
    What brand is the HDD?
    Here's some basics
    Have you run any diagnostics?
    Test Hard Drive. SeaTools
    Test RAM

    1. Click , type mdsched.exe in the Search box, and then press Enter.
    2. Choose whether to restart the computer and run the tool immediately or schedule the tool to run at the next restart.
    3. Windows Memory Diagnostics runs automatically after the computer restarts and performs a standard memory test automatically. If you want to perform fewer or more tests, press F1, use the Up and Down arrow keys to set the Test Mix as Basic, Standard, or Extended, and then press F10 to apply the desired settings and resume testing.
    4. When testing is completed, the computer restarts automatically. You’ll see the test results when you log on.

Yeah the specs in my profile are from my rig I built. It was having BSODs for a bit until I installed updated drivers for the mobo. Now it wakes up a lot slower from sleep but at least its not giving me BSODs.

Running through the Seagate Tools tests now.
    Smart Check - Pass
    Short DST Test - Pass
    Long Generic - Pass

    Here's some system specs:
    - Intel Core i5-6200U Quad Core Processor 2.3 GHz
    - 15.6" FHD (1920x1080) LED Display
    - 8GB DDR3L 1600Mhz 1 DIMM - 2 Slots (MAX 16GB)
    - SanDisk SD8SN8U-256G-1006 256 GB SSD
    - AMD Radeon R7 M340, 2 GB dedicated DDR3
    - Windows 10 Pro downgraded to Windows 7 Pro 64bit (It came with DVDs to upgrade it back up to 10 but who would do a thing like that?)

I did a chksdk and it seemed ok.
    0 bad file records processed.

I'll run the memory diagnostic next and post the results.

Edit: Memory Diagnostic reported no errors.
