Different BSODs since I use a midi interface

    Hello there,

This is my first post here. I registered because I need some help to fix my PC.
I use it for musicproduction since years and I never got those BSODs, it is a very stable system.
Now I bought a midi interface and connected that over USB with the PC and since than it began.
It took me a while to understand the relation with the interface and I am still not 100% sure, maybe one of you can give my dumpfiles a look? That would be nice. I tried to search for "error" in the event log and have updated my graphix drivers this night.

    Thanx in advance,

    Jan

    Hello,

I fixed it myself, sold the motu and bought another 8x8 midi interface. Like I wrote in my previous post, I updated the graphic card drivers too. Never had a BSOD again. Hope it stays that way :)

    Thanx for the late reply

From time to time, the drivers just need to be removed and reinstalled again to fix the problem.

Anyways, great to hear the problem is solved

I checked the drivers myself, there is a memoryleak in the motu windowsdrivers. When RAM is full it gives a BSOD. I tried removing the drivers and installed all the previous driers one by one with the same result. I even did a short test on another PC but I could not get the error there. However with a midi interface there is a lot of communication with the PC, like the midinotes, the CC values and the midi clock, often transfers in 2 directions. For the short test I used only 1 synth, in my studio 8 hardware machines are connected to the interface.

Motu is focused on Apple, those guys made windowsdrivers too, but that is not their area of expertise.

When memory is full a BSOD occurs? AFAIK that shouldn't be happening, rather a message warning that some programs need to be closed.

Unfortunately I don't know anything about music production and have no idea what you're talking about.
