Random Crashes, BSOD, Unknown Cause
Since August my computer has been having these random crashes. What happens is the display freezes for a couple seconds, then the displays shut off for around to 10 seconds (if I'm playing sound through my speakers, the sound gets glitched, like it gets stuck on whatever sound was playing when it froze). Then my computer reboots itself. Once windows starts up I get a message saying "Windows recovered from an unexpected shutdown" or something along those lines. When I look at the details, it says the cause was a BlueScreen, but I never get to see it because my display is always the first thing to shut off, and I don't know how to read any of the other details in the message.
There's no specific time or action that causes this. Sometimes I can go a whole day without crashing at all, but the next day I could crash 5 times in a row. There doesn't seem to be anything I'm doing that causes this; I could be playing a game, or I could click on a YouTube video, or I could be in the bathroom and then I'd come back to find that my computer rebooted.
I've tried checking if it's a software issue, but I don't think it is. Even after keeping any program I was using when it crashed before closed, it still would crash. I checked to see if there was any issues with drivers, but my drivers are up to date, and even older drivers (from before this issue started) don't make a difference. I've even tried completely formatting my harddrive and reinstalling windows, still no results.
The only thing that's remaining is the hardware, but no amount of research gave me a clear answer. Because it's my display that shuts off before anything else, that leads me to believe it has to do with my GPU, but I really don't know. I took my computer to a shop to get it fixed, and they tried to tell me it was my CPU, saying they were getting an error saying "thermal" something or other, and they said the computer wouldn't reboot on its own, which is something I have never once experienced and completely different from what I am experiencing. But I let them replace my CPU, and it made absolutely no difference.
I'm still believing it has something to do with the GPU, considering the initial behavior of the crash, but I've attached the zip file to this post, so hopefully someone can help me figure this out.
