    BSOD read dump file with debugger but I am confused help please


    I downloaded what you asked and have the packed file in .rar instead of zip I hope that's ok.

    Would you mind telling us what you were doing when this happened?

    Also, please follow the instructions here-

    Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

    and provide a new .zip file.

    You don't need to post a new .zip file. For some reason, when I opened the one you posted, it only showed the .dmp file. I have now found the event log and this is the problem and possible solution-

    The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume \Device\HarddiskVolume4.

    Im sorry I did not respond sooner. I did run chkdsk and it found errors and fixed them so far so good. Please know that I so appreciate the fact that you actually spent the time and effort to discover the cause of my problem! It is a rare thing nowadays.
    I posted in other forums and got the run around and I could tell they did not put any effort in. Thanks again, You rock
