BSOD after installing Scarlett 2i2 and ASIO4 audio drivers

There are a lot of known issues with the Scarlett 2i2 but it also comes with high praise so I purchased one just to give it a shot. I use Reaper as a DAW.

I had a lot of the same issues other people had. There was crackling and popping issues related to playback and recording audio. I tried increasing the buffer size but it still didn't seem to fix the problem completely. Others suggested turning of my wifi, and others said make sure I get the newest ASIO4 updates.

So I downloaded the ASIO4 drivers, after which I started getting intermittent a BSOD while in Reaper. Both times I got the BSOD I wasn't playing audio or recording audio. It was just sitting there and when I turned my head it was BSOD. I uninstalled the ASIO4 drivers as the issue wasn't really present before that and haven't had an issue since, but I've also not been using it a ton either because I don't want to fry my computer.

This is the information I got:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: fe
BCP1: 0000000000000004
BCP2: FFFFFA800A98A700

BCP4: FFFFFA80077BB010
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1

I also included the minidump files as per the forum instructions.

The log indicates a problem with USB drivers. If you go to Device Manager, Universal......................., the problem drivers should be identified. I can see which ones they are in one of the other files but you should check for yourself.

They are all listed as "working properly"

They are listed as:

Generic USB Hub
Generic USB Hub
Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host controller
Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host controller
USB composite device
USB mass storage device
USB mass storage device
USB root hub
USB root hub

If that's the issue, would it be prudent to simply move the 2i2 to a different USB port?
