You seem to have pinpointed the problem. You could try and get some advice from HP or continue to explore settings related to the USB 3 port. Also try Googling the error now you know what is triggering it, in case someone else has reported it and solved the problem.

The only instance of this problem I found after doing a Google search was solved by the poster uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. I've tried doing that again to see if that makes any difference, but to be honest, I don't have the highest of hopes at this point.

I haven't had any BSODs since my last post here, but today my mouse and keyboard locked up again.

And I just got another BSOD today. For a few weeks, things seemed to have fixed themselves, but now, I'm starting to have the same issues as before.

Another BSOD today. If anyone here could give me some guidance as to what else I could try at this stage (other than going to another forum) I'd really appreciate it.

    Thank you.

The last crash was again related to the USB functionality. For some reason the log files are incomplete and so I could not verify if the corrected hardware failures are still occurring.

Another BSOD today -- hopefully the logs are complete this time. As with the previous crashes, there was nothing plugged into any of the USB ports at the time.

Another BSOD today. No USB devices plugged in; the only things that were plugged in were the power cord and an SD card.

I'm sorry to keep repeating myself, but could someone please at least give me some advice on what I should do to resolve this problem, short of taking my laptop to a repair shop?
