    Constant Crashing or Restarts

Edit: Forget this, I've got a brand new formmated HDD and when trying to install windows RC 7100 it either freezes or reboots.

    Hiya,
I'm doing a custom computer build and I've got the RC 7100 installed. I'm using an SSD that fits in my laptop or it can be used with my desktop. It runs perfectly fine on my laptop but as soon as I log in on my desktop it freezes or restarts. It's a clean install on a formatted disk and all new components but I cannot find the problem. Any solutions please? :)

    Hello Daniel,

Could you please follow the instructions in this post and post the results?

    Thanks,

Are you using the same SSD-OP system for both machines? I'm a bit confused by what you wrote.

Are you saying that you're using the same SSD to boot on your Laptop and on your Desktop?
If so, it's no wonder that one won't work. Most likely the change in hardware is giving Windows fits.

Each Windows installation has Security Identifiers built into it - and if they don't match the hardware, then the system won't work.

In short, one system requires one copy of Windows. The attempt to workaround this by using the SSD is ingenuous, but isn't legitimate.

I think it's beyond obvious what the problem is if danway is using the same HDD for both machines. That ain't gunna work for anything.

Yeh I guessed that might have something to do with it so forget what I said before.
I got a new HDD and tried installing windows again on it. When I get onto the installer it starts expanding the files and then reboots or a few times it just freezes completely. I have left it frozen for about 15mins but nothing responds and I have to hold down the power button for a few seconds to turn it off.]

    Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help, but none of those suggestions work.
Do you think it could be a hardware issue?
The PSU has enough power so I don't think its that.
I've checked the CPU is inserted correctly and I've got to go out in a bit to get some more Thermal Compound coz I took the heatsink off.
All the leads are plugged in correctly, I've checked them all many many times.
I've tried only one stick of RAM or both and that doesn't work either.

I'm thinking it may be my Graphics Card. Could that cause freezing or rebooting?

Could be. Do you have onboard graphics you can use?

    No. :|
I don't really know what else it can be tbh. I've tried running Ubuntu from a CD and USB key and it freezes so I don't think it's just a windows problem.
