BSOD 1e with Skyrim SE, no further parameters

Wow, well ain't that a kick in the pants. Actually no, I bet it's been since summer that I updated Firefox. I never woulda thunk it. Willing to give it a shot, though. Will report back when I get a chance to try it again.

Updated Firefox, results are the same. Goes about an hour and crashes with same error as usual.
I'm going to look for the info again, I recall there being a forum from Gigabyte motherboards having an issue with socket AM3 and memory speeds. Didn't pay it any mind at the time, but it's worth a look.

I'll try to uninstall it and see what happens.

It's an old forum, but is very much relevant to my build; I run the same 965 Black Edition CPU as mentioned there. May be something to look further into on my end, since I do have all 4 memory slots filled with 1600MHz Corsair Vengeance.

You don't need to uninstall it. Just run a different browser.

Yes indeed. I've searched them for about a month and a half now. Every one of them I've gone through either has no end resolution or it was reached through the info provided in the crash dumps. Since I have none, it's bee a difficult troubleshoot.


To satisfy my own curiosity, I ran good ol' Prime95 for some time, about an hour or so, on blend test. Passed everything flawlessly, and my CPU temps stayed at or under 53 C (125 F). Some folks are willing to deem their overclocked system "stable" after running the same test for 20 minutes or so. But I think I can rule out temp problems, CPU/MB, and potentially PSU.

No, I have run furmark extensively on multiple occasions, and my GPU temp reaches 75 C and stays there. To help eliminate heat as a factor, I opened up my tower and turned all my fans to "high" and even added an extra blowing in from the side. Total of 5 fans with air flow of about 400cfm.


I glanced at the link you posted, there are a few suggestions there I have yet to try. I'll read over it in more detail when I've a bit more time. Thank you for the suggestions.

I looked through the suggestions mentioned in that post, only part of which appeared to be relevant. There was mention of re-installing C++ redistributable, which I actually have already done. I also went into my BIOS and reset everything back to default, with no better results.



I've learned of a graphics driver uninstaller utility that I may run, as I have updated the radeon software many times over the years, dating back to Catalyst 11-point-something, I think. Seems like a feasible attempt.


As a last resort, I will do a system restore back to when everything was good (sometime in March). I attempted a re-image onto an unused HDD, but was unsuccessful. (That's a whole different set of problems, though.)

Deja Vu- I was going to ping you tonight to see if you've had any success finding a solution. I guess you're still getting the BSODs.
