First BSOD - High CPU Usage?

My first one on this old warhorse. Bottom of screen said collecting data and was taking an unacceptable long time so I 'took names' (see below), powered down and restarted. Happened the other day. No incidents since then but thought I would post anyway. File attached.

STOP:0x0000003B (00000000C0000005,0xFFFFF9600010690F,0xFFFFF880023CE090,0x0000000000000000)

win32k.sys * Address FFFFF9600010690F base at FFFFF96000040000, DateStamp 5def50d1

No new h/w -s/w installed for a long time. I have noticed high cpu/ram for short period soon after startup when the machine is idle and no apps other than Rainmeter and Objectdock and a few other minor, very low cpu footprint gadgets on startup (but these have been there since always).

-thx

Very high CPU usage, causing very high laptop CPU temps (90c idle)
This problem began yesterday. I noticed my CPU was at 90C constantly with very high CPU usage (>50%). I had no major programs running. I rebooted several times and the program persisted. 1. I went into safe mode and everything was normal. So this rules out hardware issues. 2. I reformatted and...
