    contracted a virus....

Hi all....... 2 nights ago i was at my machine sitting on this forum when out of nowhere IE8 fired up (i use FF3) & threw up a flash video clip of 3 men getting it on...

as i went to close the window it started jumping all around the screen making it impossible to close, so i killed it through the task manager... all was well.

about 5mins later it popped up again.., so i killed it AGAIN & my PC froze, i was then prompted (probably by the on-board CPU protection) stating....''this machine must now shut-down a virus has been detected''

so upon restart (which took forever), i ran all scanners i have & they found nothing..??, the problem has not happened since, but i now have a proccess that fires up on boot using 30% of the CPU & it wont stop until i physically kill it in the task manager...

the exe name is......''command windows host'' or something along those lines..??, i'll take a pic on the next boot..

this is quite worrying as my kids use my machine & having that crap pop up on the screen is a big NO NO!!

im a creature of habit in regards to web surfing so i haven't been anywhere i could of contracted one, but the OS cant find a problem...

how do i null out this malicious virus if the scanners wont find it..??

    :)

First thing to check is msconfig from the start menu search box. Hit enter. Go to startup tab. Maybe it can be seen easily like that and gotten rid of then through using Regedit.

Use services.msc to look for any new 3rd party services you never heard of.

Malwarebytes is an excellent scanner. Use that with updated definitions to scan and check on things.
