Windows 7 BSOD but OK in safe mode

Hi all,

Have been running Running Windows 7 on my laptop (Dell XPS M1530) since release day, no problems.

Then yesterday it started to run really really slowly on startup, takes an absolute age to get logon prompt, then starts to logon and finally gives BSOD.

No idea what cause is, but at least it boots fine into Safe mode with Network support, no slowness.

I tried to use system restore but there are NO restore points available ? Dont know why not.

Can anyone help? Please see minidump attached.

Thanks all.

Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

so you can boot to safe mode and run from an elevated command prompt:

chkdsk /r C:

Do that for each partition on the system. Change C each time to match partition letters.

Install the latest chipset/motherboard drivers. Update these to 2009 if possible:

Nevermind, this worked! Did what torrentg said, opened command prompt in safemode, typed chkdsk /r C: and enter. Said it couldn't do anything cause C was in use, but asked me if I wanted to run this next time i start my computer. I hit Y and enter. Then restarted and it went through the process of checking the disk and fixing issues. Took a while to check, I let it run overnight. Woke up booted windows 7 normally and all is back to normal now.
