    BSOD Kernel-Power event id 41

Hi im running a windows 7 64 bit version. Ive been getting BSOD since 27/11. The computer keeps running but will cut out after a period of time. Not sure whats causing it. Some times i just keep getting BSOD and then it restarts. I've done a system restore to before this date but it keeps happening. Any idea of what the problem might be. The full event is Kernel- Power event id 41 task category 63.

Hi. That's a hardware error so you can see this thread for things to try:

    https://www.sevenforums.com/crash-loc...-what-try.html

Install the latest video card driver from NVIDIA's site.

If you have an nForce chipset, install latest from here:

    Hi and welcome pfishfood

first your error 41 seems to be more comman than i thought. this is the fourth time tonight I have seen it. it is described here What does Event ID 41 in the System event log mean? and would definately contribute to crahses. It seems to indicate there is a stepping error in the cpu. I would suspect it might need a bios upgrade. this particular dmp was probably caused by wininit and werfault. wininit is actually windows start up applications so you can imagine with it dieing it woould take the rest of the ssystem with it. werfault is simply the error reposting system. It probably died from winit.

    I would update the BIOS
    If you are overclocking STOP
I would also run a system file check to verify and repair your sytem files. to fo that you should type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow

as usual if you get anymore crashes upload them.

    Hope this helps

Hi and thanks for the fast reply ive checked the bios and the most recent update was already on the computer. I am not overclocking and never have. I ran the system file check and got the following response.

Windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them details are included in the CBS.log windir\logs\CBS\CBS.log

Im not sure what it means but ill attach the CBS.log file and another crash occured so ill attach the minidump file also.

The last entry in the CBS.log file seems to indicate that it successfully completed the repair after several attempts:
2009-11-29 04:07:53, Info CSI 000002cd [SR] Verify and Repair Transaction completed. All files and registry keys listed in this transaction have been successfully repaired
I've seen virus infections that cause this error - so I would suggest running an independent anti-malware scan to confirm that the system is free of infection. Here's a listing of free, online scanners: Malware

    Here's the memory dump analysis:
