System Crash & Hotfix

Hi,

I had some issues with my graphic card and we had solved it. For details, please check these threads:

GeForce FX Driver Issue

https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...y-options.html

Now my crashing/freezing issue has returned. It happened three times since we had solved my driver issue. System randomly freezes and I need to push reset button to restart it. When I check the event log. At the first two crashes event log pointed "Event ID 41 Kernel Power Critical" log. But at the third crash, event log pointed Event ID 6008. I searched for both event IDs.

For 6008, it says it is a known problem at Windows 2000 and Windows Servers and it has a hotfix. But nothing for Windows 7.

What do you think is the problem? Power supply unit? I do not have too many hardware components. Graphic card+sound card+ethernet. That's all. I unplugged CD-ROM and CD-RW in order to use less power. My PSU is relatively newer than other components.

Any help will be appreciated.

I do not get a BSOD. Is this still a way for my problem?

Btw, there is no minidump folder at C:\Windows\ location.

Yes. The best thing to do is follow the 0x124 link I posted.

Error 41 Kernel-Power means that power to the cpu is not well at the time of the crash for whatever reason. There are many possibilities. Highest chances is that the motherboard or psu is not running well for whatever reason...possible blown or leaking capacitors on the motherboard. You can visually inspect them for brown substance leaking and also see if they have rounded tops instead of perfectly flat.

Do you know how many watts your psu is rated at?

I will check for leaking capacitors... If I am not mistaken, my PSU is 400Watt.

Edit: Capacitors seems to be okay, no leak no seen rounded tops... And I've also checked my PSU. I am correct. It is 400 Watt. Do you think 350 Watt one will also handle my current system? I have an unused 350 Watt PSU. I can try it and see If the problem is the current PSU...
