You might be downloading borked copies of Windows. Only get Windows from the official source being Microsoft.

Hi, I also facing same problem. I download the source of Windows 7 from Microsoft Volume Licensing site. I install the Seven in several different machine, with different edition : Ultimate and Enterprise.

At the beginning all work fine until they online to Microsoft Update site (I guest) then they starting to 'fretful'. The system came to often hang with Windows Explorer not responding. I am not sure if update component caused this problem, in fact all work fine without Windows Update, at least. Also I do not have any anti-virus software installed since I believe so far virus can not inspect yet the Seven. I just install K-Lite Codec Pack if you would like to know, others are common software for PC installed.

I just follow Supporting document from Microsoft, How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

I am running the 7 without Third-Party Start-up application and services, so far is OK, at least. Not sure which application or services or maybe driver that cause the problem.

No, even I just double clik "Computer" icon from Start Menu, it's happens. Not always, but often, in any chance when I need to access explorer.
