BSOD after restarting from sleep mode

    Hey guys and gals,

So, the history of my problem is thus. I've been using Windows 7 since the beta 7000 client and am now using W7 Professional 32bit. Sadly, my computer has never really acted properly after coming out of sleep. It doesn't always crash right away, but eventually it does crash and it is quite annoying.

From a base install of windows 7, I actually do not receive a BSOD when it crashes, but my screen start flickering with a bunch of lines of garbled video output on the screen for about 10 seconds, at which points the computer reboots and I get a "Windows has recovered from a serious error" message.

Recently(today), I installed the updated drivers for my Radeon x1200 chipset. I guess now would be a good time to point out this is a notebook I am working with. A Toshiba Satellite L300D. I found someone asking a similar question as I so I will post what I found in CPU-Z as my motherboard.

    ATI RS690/RS690M with a southbridge of SB600

Attached is the minidump folder all zipped up. Those dumps range from since I installed Windows 7 Pro on this machine about a month ago.

    Thanks for your help all,

    Hi.

Update the video card driver from ATI's site.

    And also update these:

    AGRSM AGRSM.sys Mon Nov 10 09:56:37 2008
    SynTP SynTP.sys Thu Aug 14 22:02:22 2008
    FwLnk FwLnk.sys Sun Nov 19 09:11:12 2006
    TVALZ_O TVALZ_O.SYS Thu Nov 08 22:07:46 2007

So, i updated the SynTP to the generic version as the one on Toshiba's website is from 2008, and for TVALZ, there is only an XP version but it was much newer so I updated to that.

For both FwLnk and AGRSM, there are no new drivers that i could find for my system from Toshiba, and they are both Toshiba programs. The AGRSM.sys deals with the dial up modem and the FWLink is stated as a firmware linkage service, no idea what that is to be honest.

I had already updated to the newest video drivers as well. Meant to state that along with the chipset drivers.

And, I am still getting the blue screens . latest minidump is attached.

I just noticed you have AVG. That causes the most bsod on the internet. Completely uninstall that and post a new crash dump if needed, after. My guess is that it won't be needed after.

Wow, really? That is sad news for me. Can anyone recommend an alternative anti-virus then? Just a heads up though, I detest Norton as it is bloated and a resource hog. A basic anti-virus is all I would be looking for, no personal firewall or anything.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the suggestions. I had heard of avast and had already installed it and so far it is working great and no BSOD's yet. I'll update on whether this fixed the issue after further use if there are no more issues. Thanks a bunch Torrentg for the help, and usasma for the suggestions as well!

Bah, using it this morning and got the BSOD again. Took it a while to crash this time as I put it to sleep last night around 11, but woke it back up at around 1130 for some overnight torrenting. It didn't BSOD until 1040ish in the morning when i was unzipping one of the torrents.

Minidump attached as usual. Thanks for the help/patience.

These drivers are still on the system and not updated yet:

    AGRSM AGRSM.sys Mon Nov 10 09:56:37 2008 <<disable dial-up modem if you can't update this

FwLnk FwLnk.sys Tue Apr 03 05:56:47 2007 << you can uninstall using device manager if it doesn't do anything you need - check the box to delete the driver software while doing so

    TVALZ_O TVALZ_O.SYS Thu Nov 08 22:07:46 2007 << likely causing issues

This one now looks good though:

    SynTP SynTP.sys Thu Aug 27 21:59:32 2009

Ok, I am hoping that i have uninstalled all those drivers. I couldn't find updated ones for Fwlkn.sys, so i uninstalled it, also, i couldn't find anything for Tvalz_os.sys so I removed it as well after installing the latest common modules install. At least, I hope they were removed. I don't know how to tell. what drivers are loaded. Thanks for your help and patience guys.
