You boot from it like you did for Memtest.
Press Enter to select the first 2 choices
Then, when it asks you if the list is correct, press Y (for yes)
Then press A (for Advanced) and then S (for Start).
Let it run

If you get a red bar across the bottom of the screen, press "Esc"
Otherwise just let it finish
Green screen = good
Red screen = bad

Do you think that hotfix applies to me? Here are the two latest dumps in case they help.

The "hotfix" is for:
Quote:
  • You have a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • The computer has a Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) hard disk.
  • The size of the SATA hard disk is large. For example, the size of the SATA hard disk is 1 terabyte (TB).
  • You put the computer into the Sleep state or into the Hibernate state.
  • You try to resume the computer.
Since you have a Toshiba laptop, I doubt that the fix is for you - you just won't have that big of a hard drive.
Also, does the situation happening when you try to resume the computer from Sleep mode?

Quite frankly, I'd be more concerned over the failure of the system to run a hard drive diagnostic. If you can't run a diagnostic the only other option is to purchase another hard drive and see if it works when you reinstall Windows (I'd suggest purchasing one from a store with a good return policy - so you can return it if that's not the problem).

Ok, I'm going to have to skip the HDD diagnostics because in my mind I feel it is not the hard drive becuase the laptop is only a year old and it never did this in Vista. I don't have the time or money to get a new HDD. I just had to wing it and do a clean install. I got one BSOD right off the bat, but I'm not too worried because a) I didn't update all the drivers yet and b) I was installing a bunch of driver software at the time it BSOD so I think it may have been jusat an overload. Here is the dump anyways. Thank you sooo much for helping. Sorry for not taking your advice but I have to skip that diagnostic for now.

Your system, your call. If the hard drive worked well in the past, that means that it'll continue to work well in the future? If so, I'd be out of work because hard drives would never die.

Good luck!

I know, but I just don't have the time or money to troubleshoot that step at the moment, sorry. I went ahead and did a clean install can you please anazlyze this dump? Also, about that hotfix, I have a laptop so I'm assuming its a sata 2.5" HDD and I know its 320 GB. Usually the BSOD does come from waking up from sleep or hibernate. I need you to please tell me if the stop errors are those described by the hotfix. If so this may be my problem. 320 GB I don't know if thats considered large or not. Thank you.

320 gB just isn't all that large - so I doubt that the hotfix will help you. But go ahead if that's what you want.
The HDD diag will only take one CD - maybe you can borrow a CD-RW to try it with?

Nothing specific in the dump file.

Please update these older drivers:
