    New laptop, getting BSODs

    Hello.
I am using a new HP Pavilion dv4-2046nr and have been getting BSODs. Most of these have occurred while playing a game called Allods, although they have occurred at other times, as well. I have uploaded two dumps - the most recent, and an older one that occurred before Allods was installed.

120609-21481-01 is the older one, and 120509-21387-01 happened early this morning.

Thank you! I have done that. I accidentally hit "post" before I was done so I was just trying to edit it as fast as possible before anyone could see it but I guess I was too slow!

These drivers are older so you should update them to latest:

    Code:
    adpu320 adpu320.sys Tue Feb 27 19:04:15 2007
    adp94xx adp94xx.sys Fri Dec 05 18:54:42 2008
    adpahci adpahci.sys Tue May 01 13:30:09 2007
    arc arc.sys Thu May 24 17:27:55 2007
    iirsp iirsp.sys Tue Dec 13 16:47:54 2005
    lsi_fc lsi_fc.sys Tue Dec 09 17:46:09 2008
    nfrd960 nfrd960.sys Tue Jun 06 17:11:48 2006
    SiSRaid2 SiSRaid2.sys Wed Sep 24 14:28:20 2008
    sisraid4 sisraid4.sys Wed Oct 01 17:56:04 2008
After doing that, post a new crash dump if necessary.

Are you an Evanescence or Mozart fan? I'm guessing Evanescence by the spelling of your screen name.

Thanks! Do you know how I can go about getting updates for these?

Ahah, I get asked that question a lot.. I actually had the song by Kalafina in mind.

You're welcome. Google them to discover what they are and to find the manufacturers' websites.

All of the drivers you mentioned are for things that contain words like SCSI, RAID, SATA, and StorPort... I'm having trouble finding updates on the manufacturer's sites, but it seems weird that there are all these drivers for all these different kinds of storage devices.

I searched on Adaptec's web site, for example, when I found that adpu320.sys was for the Adaptec Ultra320 SCSI Driver, but the only thing I could find did not list Windows 7 under its compatible environments (64-bit Windows was the most recent OS on the list).

Here are two more dumps that happened last night. I updated several drivers using the device manager and still am getting BSODs.

...and you're wondering what you may have missed, right?

    haha

I think I may have missed one unless you just introduced this to the system:

    wacommousefilter wacommousefilter.sys Fri Feb 16 13:12:17 2007

Whatever Wacom device you have, either update the driver for it or remove it from the system while rebooting, to test.

    Update these to latest, still:

    Code:
    sisraid4 sisraid4.sys Wed Oct 01 17:56:04 2008
    iirsp iirsp.sys Tue Dec 13 16:47:54 2005
    arc arc.sys Thu May 24 17:27:55 2007
    adp94xx adp94xx.sys Fri Dec 05 18:54:42 2008
    adpahci adpahci.sys Tue May 01 13:30:09 2007

Click on "software and driver downloads" on this page then choose your Windows 7 version 32 or 64. Latest drivers for your notebook are there.
