    Hangs after wakeup from sleep

If my PC goes into sleep mode when its at the login screen it hangs when I log in as a user - at the "welcome" screen. The round thing keeps going round. I need to do a hard reboot to restart. It also hangs when I wake it up out of Hibernate.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi and welcome

first are you using autohide taskbar?

Second, look in event viewer. type eventvwr in search. go to windows log>application tab. Look for errors (they have red in left hand column) that contain app hang, app crash, etc. when you find them (there is a lot of data) use the snipping tool to make a screen shot, and upload it to us using the attachment icon (shaped like a paperclip) in the reply form. see pics

Let us know if you need help

    I've switched off autohide. No joy . . .

There aren't any "app hang" or "app crash" messages. I'm getting a lot of "error" messages, Source "SidebySide" with the following information. Looking at the DLL it might be a printer driver error (MFC=Multifunction Centre - we have a Brother printer)??

Activation context generation failed for "C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc80.mfc_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.4053_none_cbf21254470d8752\MFC8 0U.DLL". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",ver sion="8.0.50608.0" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.
