The good thing about this place is that it proves beyond any shadow of a doubt what I have been saying all along. AV's are not worth the hassle as they tend to cause more problems than they solve.
After reading the cause of most of these BSOD problems I would say this true beyond any shadow of a doubt. We should just start off telling people to remove all traces of their AV software before they even bother posting the .dmp because 75 percent of the time the AV software is the cause of the problem. |

It is the 3rd party firewall that causes all of the problems - NIS, N360, MIS, KIS, etc... If you look closely at usasma's posted dump output in post #6, you will note the presence of the 0xc0000005 NTSTATUS exception code = a memory access violation. The 3rd party firewall blocks local NETBIOS ports causing Windows 7 & Vista system services to crash.
Post #6 --> https://www.sevenforums.com/448932-post6.html I have found this in 1000s of users systems; one example --> Tech Support Forum - View Single Post - Download stops working in Windows7, Internet Download Manager, Everywhere I personally have no issues with updated anti-virus program installations by Norton, Kaspersky, McAfee, etc... just their firewall products. Happy Holidays! jcgriff2 . |
