I just installed W7 in my laptop yesterday. As I have a problem with my battery, i changed power settings to power saving mode. So while I was away, the computer went into hibernate. I didn't know it was on hibernate, thought it was off and tried turning on/off for a while with no luck. Hopefully, it will be an easy fix.

Use system restore to a point prior to the problem

Several things that can be tried:

Reinstall
Upgrade install (a repair)

I think that under the circumstances and since you just installed it, just reinstall.
