    Crash Problem

Once in a while when I right click a file to cut it and paste it somewhere else I get the Windows explorer crash.

I just click cancel and the desktop kinda resets for a sec and everything goes back to normal.

Why is this and how do I resolve it?

    Thanks

first you need to find out why
type eventvwr in search>go to windows logs>application tab. look for errors (they have red in the left column) that have app hang, app crash, etc. when you find them tell us what the event ID and source codes are.

I suspect that they are event ID 1000 and source 100. If so it is a problem with DEP

    et us know

If you have an NVIDIA card disable NVIDIA.CPL in your context menu with a free program called shellexview.

Event ID 1000 source 100 is usally caused by DEP. DEP or data execution prevention stops apps from launching in protected memory. It is located in cpanel>sys control panel>advanced>performance>DEP. Default is MS services and apps. If an app is failing you can either except it (put it in a list that isnt examined) of even turn DEP off. Instructions for that is located here DEP - Enable or Disable - Vista Forums.

Let us know if you need help
