That 12 v reading is bogus, I get the same thing.

I also have a RARE (every month or so) random reboot, just had one on a mouseclick.

Very hard to track down something like this.

I'm with rich on this one, either PSU or memory. The 790i is very picky about memory settings and even the brand of memory being used is important. I would have to look at the memory settings being used to know for sure.

The Patriot Ram is the best choice for the 790i but the timings and voltages matter also. I can see that Op is already Linked and synked which is the way to go with the 790i..

I suggested memory in one of my posts, but indicated that I thought that it was the least likely candidate. Thanks for clearing that up.

Task Sceduler

Check your task scheduler in Windows 7 there are a lot of of scheduled tasks set by the system and use event triggers and I have had issues with various events causing random reboots like this.

Someone else had the "RACtask" rebooting problem also.
Hi.

I have the same problem, and I resolved as follow:

Go To ->

Contol Panel
System and Security
Administrative Tools
Schedule Tasks

Under the Active Tasks panel, I had a task named "RacTask" scheduled to run 1 hour after the power on.
I noticed when the time to start that task comes, my computer reboout...

So I disabled that task, and my computer don't reboot anymore now.

Seems a joke that the RAC service who is the responsible to check the reliability of the system, was the cause of the reboot

I have had a core I7 running smooth for about 6 months and lately it has been rebooting and acting odd. If someone could look at the attached dumps I would appreciate it. Also if someone could point me to a good guide in understanding dump files I would appreciate also.
