    Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Explorer.exe Crash

I've installed Win7 on my new Clevo W860CU laptop, installed all latest drivers and suddenly the explorer.exe crashes. I've then decided to reinstall but it did randomly crash on me again. How do you debug this issue? I'm kind of a perfectionist and I never seen that error with my desktop with Win7 on it. Could it be a driver issue or something?

    Hi Kevin,

Can you check the Event viewer see whether you find anything specific

Go To Start Under start search Type eventvwr under there Windows Log under that Application and right side panel check for Errors

Does the Explorer crashes when you do anything specific like just right clicking on Desktop or Opening any application ?

Hi, Here's the screenshot of the explorer.exe error: Nope it happens randomly with both of my Win7 installations. I've just experienced it twice one each installation.

Sorry the first pic was very small. I've attached a better picture.

What's odd in that, is why is the Explorer, version 7600.16404, and the shell is only 7600.16385?

Are you running a modified theme with patched system files?

No, I'm not running any modified theme. Do they need to be exactly the same version? What could be wrong?

Please perform the steps in this link: https://www.sevenforums.com/crash-loc...g-process.html

Please PM me when you complete this (I don't normally look at user mode crashes).

They should all be exactly the same version, to my experience, when they are all different, things go wrong.

Have you done a Windows Update?

Do so, and make sure you get all of the ones related to windows security.

    Hopefully that solves your problem.

If not, i have a second round of action.

Yes I always do a Windows Update after clean installing any OS. What is your second round of action?

By the way, how do you check if the files have the same version?
